Title
Augmentation and Pre-Processing of 3D models
Abstract
Today the generation of raw 3D models has become quite easy. Typical sources for geometric data are: 3D scanning, CAD system output, reconstructions from images and video andso on. However, while these models usually have a sufficient quality at the first glance, the removal of inconsistencies and other optimizations are still necessary to make these raw models any useful for downstream applications beyond mere display. Besides this basic mesh repair, one would also like to convert unstructured polygonal models into meshes where individual faces are of high quality in terms of aspect ratio and the degrees of freedom i.e. vertices) are aligned to major geometric features. These are the global and the local aspects of remeshing techniques respectively. In my talk ,I will present a number of mesh repair and mesh optimization techniques which are numerically robust and sufficiently efficient to process large dataset of realistic input quality.

Title
Information Visualization
Abstract
The widespread use of Internet has led to information explosion, a daunting challenge we must address in order to make sense and maximize utilization of all the available information. Visualization proves effective to aid in detecting and understanding the hidden features and patterns in massive, dynamically changing information spaces. I will introduce techniques for visualizing security, socialnetwork, and software. Specifically, I will present a visual analysis tool for understanding large, heterogeneous social networks, e.g., a terrorism network,in which nodes and links could represent different subjects and relations, respectively. I will also present visualization designs for monitoring large software development team and the evolution of the software system.

Real-time Rendering Techniques and Engine for Large-scale Scenes
Abstract
Real-time rendering for large-scale scenes is an interesting but very challenging problem in computer graphics nowadays. The focal point of this problem is how to effectively coordinate the conflicts between the scene complexity expansion and the demand of time-efficiency and realistic quality of rendering. The real-time rendering engine, which is the organic integration of multiple real-time rendering techniques, is the core component of many graphics applications, i.e., virtual prototype, industrial simulation, military simulation, flight simulator, scientific visualization.
This report will introduce the state-of-art of the real-time rendering for large-scale scenes, including simplification and multiresolutional rendering, occlusion culling, out-of-core rendering, and etc. Meanwhile, it will introduce the recent research fruits in this subject done by CAD&CG State Key Lab, ZhejiangUniversity, such as large-scale terrain visualization, real-time rendering of large-scale woods, shadow generating for dynamic scenes and so on.
Besides, the report will introduce the real-time rendering engine developed by CAD&CG State Key Lab. The design goal, architecture, integrated algorithms, development status and current release will be briefly depicted.

基于隐式样条与T网格样条的重建
